Tackling Violence is a NSW Government community education, early intervention and prevention program funded by Women NSW and delivered by the NSW Education Centre Against Violence (ECAV). The program uses men’s involvement in rugby league as a platform to change attitudes and behaviours towards family and domestic violence. It is underpinned by a Code-of-Conduct which commits rugby league clubs and their individual representatives to refrain from perpetrating family and domestic violence. Clubs also participate in family and domestic violence education workshops, and support broader community awareness campaigns through social media and other communication channels. By ensuring all women and girls have equal opportunities to participate and achieve, we will make NSW a better place to live for everyone.
Nowra Bomaderry Jets are proud to be a part of this initiative in doing all we can to STOP DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. In support of this initiative, NBJets have signed a code of conduct that commits us to penalising players for domestic violence offences and display the Tackling Violence logo on our playing kit and at our home ground.
